Housing for people at Bottom of Pyramid

In economics, the Bottom of Pyramid is the largest, but poorest group. This phrase is used for business models that target this group. Case in point is the Ginger Hotels built by Taj group for people looking for Hotels at around 1000Rs per day. I started thinking about Housing for the people. Now, with lot of people migrating to Cities, there is lot of demand for housing, while there is not enough houses. What has happened is mushrooming of PG accomodation where 3BR house(s) in 30×40 are converted into PGs. In this case, multiple beds are placed in each BR, people have to share the living room, bathroom and at the end of the day lead to loss of privacy and fighting among inmates. We can consider these people as the Bottom of Pyramid, since they are looking for house at rent of about 2000-3000 per month. These people are mainly looking for privacy and independence and do not use living room, kitchen, pooja room…..Why not build no-frills houses for these people. I came up with a plan for 8 independent houses per floor in 30×40 as shown in the attached image. This is lot better than people sharing a 3BR house like animals. My plan may not be the best, but I hope you think about these people looking for a quality PG and come with your own plan.
