Apple iPad – Apple, Do not Ignore the Indian Market. Not this time.

Alright. Apple has launched the much awaited tablet, iPad and the entire tech world is buzzing with the new i Product. Simply put, iPad is a multi-touch device that redefines web browsing, and viewing rich media on one’s computer. The screen is 9.7 inches, measured diagonally. So overall, it’s slightly smaller than a magazine. And at just 1.5 lbs and 0.5 inches thin, it uses a display technology called IPS (in-plane switching), it has a wide, 178° viewing angle The Multi-Touch screen on the iPad uses the same revolutionary technology that’s in an iPhone; and is well integrated with apps store (close ot 14,000 apps available) – more details at the official iPad page . Apple iPad Apple iPad and India Traditionally, Apple has ignored India (the apple store was down for almost 15 days and there was hardly any response from Apple on the same), but it’s time Apple revisits it’s India strategy (they earlier shutdown the India support office, owing to backclash regarding outsourcing et al). And why is India important for Apple? Look at the query volume for apple iPad from India. Apple iPad Query Traffic India stands second in the query volume (for apple iPad) and even though (and 10th for the keyword ‘apple tablet’). Ofcourse, the naysayers will say – Indian market isn’t right for iPad etc , but the reality is that there is a curiosity , an interest , an intent .
