Technological advancement has its own disadvantages like small kids getting addicted to mobile games. Story Time for Kids is one such app with which parents won’t hesitate to hand over the gadget to their kid. Made with the aforementioned motive, Story Time for Kids has struck a chord with users all around and the app has seen more than 800,000 downloads cumulatively across the four platforms, namely, iOS, BB, Android and Windows 7 phone. About the app Story Time brings a child’s favorite story book on their parent’s cell phone. It has rich illustrations on each story page and also packs an audio narration which enables a child to understand the correct pronunciation of each word. Also, there is an option wherein one can choose as to who’d read out the story and native voices are also available. Cost analysis There are quite a few popular story books available for free and the paid ones cost around Rs 50 which is pretty reasonable when compared to their harder counterparts. Apart from this, digital books would ensure better engagement and hence more learning for the kid. The Past, The Present and The Future The app was launched in the closing months of 2010. The first version was built over a period of 3 months and has gained in popularity ever since, now witnesses around 5,000 downloads across platforms each day. The roadmap for version 2.0 includes more interactivity, animations and sound effects.
